The Entrance test will be held in twelve cities as follows: Delhi, Jaipur, Srinagar, ]ammu, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Mumbai, Patna, Kolkata, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Calicut (Kerala).
The Written Test would comprise of General Studies (objective type) and Essay Writing on UPSC model. Both the papers would be in English/Hindi/Urdu. The test is to· assess the candidate's knowledge of general awareness, logical and critical thinking, reasoning, comprehension and the ability to express themselves in an or anised and structured manner. The total duration of the examination would be three hours.
There would be negative marking for objective-type questions in the test. One-third of the marks will be deducted for a wrong answer.
The Entrance Test Paper would be divided into two parts: Paper-I and Paper-ll.
Paper-I would consist of objective-type questions. There would be 60 questions, and the total marks for this section would be 60 (60 x 1 = 60). This paper will also include CSAT questions. The students may take the question paper with them. There will be negative marking as per the UPSC norm.
Paper-II would consist of Essay writing, for which the total allotted marks would be 60. The candidate would be required to write two essays (30 x 2 = 60). The total time allotted for both the papers would be three (3) hours. However, the OMR sheet would be collected after one (1) hour. The time allotted for writing the essays will be two (2) hours.
The essay copies of only top 900 students will be evaluated based on MCQ test marks (Paper-I).
The total marks of the Personality Test (Interview) would be Thirty (30). The interviews will be held offline only. The list of the candidates who qualify for the Personality Test (Interview) will be uploaded in the website, with the date of interview.
In case ofa tie, the higher marks in the interview would be taken as the basis of selection. If there is still a tie, the younger candidate (age-wise) will get the seat. 5 % ofthe seats will be reserved for the Physically Handicapped candidates as per the reservation policy of Jamia Millia Islamia.
Only those candidates who have already completed their Graduation and are eligible to apply for the Civil Services Examination 2026 can apply for the RCA-JMI Entrance Test. Those who are pursuing any regular course from any institution or employed in any organisation would not be entitled for admission at RCA-JMI.
The free coaching will include (a) sessions on General Studies, CSAT and selected optional papers, (b) Test Series, Answer evaluation, Discussions and Essay writing practice, will be part of the curriculum. The academy will also conduct mock interviews and brainstorming sessions for those who qualify for the Civil Services Main examination.
The Test Series (Preliminary) is tentatively scheduled from January 2026 to May 2026.
The Test Series (Mains) is tentatively scheduled from June 2026 to August 2026.
Air-conditioned library facility is provided (24 x7).
There are 100 seats available through the entrance test. Hostel accommodation is compulsory and will be provided to all the admitted students. In case of shortage, hostel seats may be allotted in a phased manner strictly based on merit determined by the entrance test. RCA reserves the right to reduce the intake if sufficiently deserving candidates are unavailable. Similarly, if a student gets admitted in RCA-JMI but remains absent from the academy for more than a month (without any prior permission to the office), RCA-JMI reserves the right to forfeit his/her seat.
Students shall pay the monthly Hostel Maintenance Charge of ? 1000/- per month, which has to be paid six months (6) in advance, i.e. 6000/-. After that, they must deposit the Maintenance Charge by first week of every month. For female students, their charges would be deposited in the Girl Hostel/Provost Office.
Students must adhere to the RCA Rules and Regulations, which will be issued separately at the time of admission.
Application has to be submitted online only (https://admission,jmi.ac.in) with a fee of { 1200/- + applicable bank charges.
